Yglu FAQ
Straight answers to the questions builders ask before they apply. Jump to a topic, or read straight through.
What Yglu is
- Yglu is not custom software. It is a proven, repeatable process — you get a platform fitted to how you already build, installed the same reliable way every time.
- Yglu uses AI as the engine that makes a proven process fit your business fast. The process is the product, not the hype.
- Squarespace and Wix build marketing sites. Yglu is website, CRM, project management, and finances on one login — none of which Squarespace or Wix carry.
- Yes. Yglu is built for the East Tennessee custom home builder shape, small and mid sized firms specifically.
Ownership and data
- Yes — the site, the data, and the platform are yours. If you ever left, you would host and maintain it yourself. The Yglu Plan covers hosting, continuous improvement, and support, which is also why it keeps getting better.
- Yes. Each Block has its own export path — the website ships out as HTML and CSS, the customer records ship out as a database export you can load anywhere. Nothing is trapped inside Yglu.
- Your data comes with you when you leave Yglu — no lock in, your data stays portable and yours. The same applies coming in: the records you keep today move into Yglu at install and remain exportable.
- Your client data lives on your own accounts, on your own domain. Every install is its own instance, not a slice of someone else's database, so no other builder's data sits next to yours. We name the exact providers on the discovery visit so you can vet them before anything is set up.
- You still own the platform. The site stays on your accounts and keeps running on your domain. You lose our support and the continuous improvements the plan covers, but the site does not go dark.
The plan and pricing
- Yglu is a flat $2,000 per month. That covers all five Blocks, unlimited seats, hosting, and support. Month to month, no annual lock. Full breakdown on the plan.
- The Yglu Plan covers hosting, continuous improvement, and support. It keeps getting better, which is why builders stay, not because they are locked in. Full breakdown on the plan.
- No. Yglu is flat $2,000 per month — no per seat pricing, no usage fees, no setup fee.
- Your platform stays on your accounts. You lose the continuous improvements and support covered by the plan, but the site and data are yours.
- No. Yglu replaces the CRM, project management, and website — keep your accounting tool where it is.
Proof and comparisons
- A short list of builders runs on Yglu today, and we introduce you before you commit. See the case studies for the current lineup and what each of them ships every week.
- For a custom home builder who wants to own the platform, Yglu wins on ownership and price — you own the site and the data, Buildertrend rents you a slice of theirs. See the side by side on the Yglu vs. Buildertrend comparison.
- CoConstruct was acquired by Buildertrend and folded into their platform, so the CoConstruct question is really a Buildertrend question. See the Yglu vs. CoConstruct comparison for the full breakdown.
- The Yglu comparison walks feature by feature against the tools most builders show us on the first call — it is there so you do not have to build it yourself.
- Yglu is run by Kol Dorney, who founded it. Installs are done personally with the founder — no handoff to a support rep.
Adoption and time
- A Yglu install starts with a discovery visit, then about 8 hours of live sessions where you and the founder sit side by side and shape the platform. From there you run alongside your current tools until you trust it.
- A Yglu install takes about 8 hours of live sessions to reach a working platform. From there you test and tune in the office and field at your own pace.
- No. Yglu runs alongside your current tools until you are ready. No rip and replace, no hard cutover.
- Yes. The tasks in Yglu are the ones your team already does, now automated instead of manual. There is nothing new to learn.
- Because Yglu is shaped to your workflow during the install, adoption is high. You also run it side by side with your current tools until the team trusts it — no forced cutover to a tool they resent.
Integrations
- Yglu does not integrate with QuickBooks out of the box today. If that integration matters to you, tell us during the discovery visit and we will scope it into your install, or keep the export flow you use now.
In the field
- Yglu runs in a normal mobile browser, so anywhere the super gets even a bar it loads. There is no full offline mode today. If your crews work sites with no signal at all, tell us on the discovery visit and we will scope what field capture actually needs to look like for you.
- The Yglu portal is homeowner first — it is built for the client. A full subcontractor login is not shipped yet. If sub access matters for your workflow, tell us on the discovery visit and we will scope what it needs to do for you.
- The Yglu interface is English today. Per field translations for the parts your Spanish speaking crews touch are negotiable at install — bring it up during discovery so we can scope which forms and portals need to translate.
Leaving Yglu
- Your Yglu platform is already yours. Change the DNS or lock us out — the site keeps running on your accounts.
